Found the site in a search. Site is great. I served on the Keppler from August 1965 until June 1967. The most memorable experience was the West Pac Deployment. My grandfather, William (Bill) L. Henry, was on the USS Keppler in the early 50's. I believe it was '51 to '55. He no lives in Carbondale. He has pictures of a lot of guys on the ship. Iwas in A gang first as a boat engineer then in the air compressor section.I also went to MM school from the ship.I was on the Happy Valley in 1955-1956. I have fond memories of the trips to New York,Halifax,Lisbon,And the Cities of Colon and Panama city. Great site!!! I was aboard the Mighty "K" from spring '69 to summer '71. I was a BT3 (Boilerman, 3rd class) assaigned to the after fireroom.
